North Island New Zealand Once again, the Members Church of God International (MCGI) in the North Island of New Zealand gathered once again to witness and experience the presentation of the brethren’s children, the Kawan ng Cordero (KNC) or the Flock of Lambs which was held last 19th of April 2019. Brethren from distant locale chapters throughout the North Island of New Zealand namely Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga and Papakura held its second KNC Presentation succeeding last year’s presentation. Psalms and Hymns for the Lord, led by the Kawan ng Cordero or the Flock of Lambs choir, were sung to strengthen the spirits of the brethren. The program’s opening prayer, led by our workers, officially commenced the beginning of the programme proper. Kirsten Nina Miranda, one of the brethren’s children, showcased her talent in singing followed by Rhanzi Kent Juanio singing live accompanied by him playing the keyboard. Both showed that children, even though how small and fragile they may be, their God-given talent are not put to waste as they continue to grow and develop with God’s help and mercy. The KNC’s also showed their ability to memorize verses from the Holy Scriptures. They were also given a chance to convey heartfelt yet meaningful messages through their poems. Songs of praises were also sung by the KNC’s themselves. As the program continued, Ianne Meg Parado, one of the KNC’s, showcased her talent in preaching the word of God by delivering her topic. The topic was then continued by Sharmaine Valle and Boone Parado. All of which showed resilience and passion in conveying the gospel of Christ. KNC Representatives from different locale chapters were given a chance to deliver their Speech Choir in front of the brethren. Drawings derived from the Bible were also presented onstage by the program’s hosts. Beforehand the children were given different verses from the Bible and they were tasked to draw illustrations from the given verses. They also participated in the Bible Quiz category, where the hosts ask questions about the bible and the KNC’s will then answer it. All in all, the KNC’s showed how even the smallest can be taught to do God’s will. As it is written in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”. By doing so, the word of God given to the children at a very young age gets instilled into them retaining it until they grow up with God’s help and mercy. To God be the Glory! For the first time in Church history, the Members Church of God International (MCGI) in New Zealand held a “Feast dedicated to God” in unison with all Locale chapters worldwide. People from different faiths, beliefs, and races were invited together to celebrate and offer the feast to God Almighty. Various kinds of dishes varying from Filipino to Western courses were served during the feast. Of course, a Filipino themed feast isn’t complete without “Lechon”, a whole roasted pig. But this feast isn’t any ordinary feast, it is a feast whose sole purpose is to help the needy, the lame and the poor, all of which is written in the Bible. In the Philippines, ‘Fiestas’ or Festivals are prevalent wherever you go tracing back to the country’s Spanish Colonial Roots. Most ‘fiestas’ or festivals in the Philippines are either offered to and named after Catholic Saints or just for celebrations’ sake. Out of all ‘fiestas’ all over the world, never have we seen a ‘fiesta’ dedicated solely to our Almighty God. That is why the Members Church of God International (MCGI) in New Zealand opened the doors to welcome their guests to a scrumptious meal, gift-giving, games and visual entertainment. Various parlour games were held during the said ‘fiesta’ to liven up the event. The invited guests were given the chance to win awesome prizes by taking part in different games such as “Arranging yourselves from youngest to oldest”, “Trip to Jerusalem”, “Pinoy Henyo”, and many more. The Kawan ng Cordero (KNC) also took part in it. The brethren also had their very own ‘free store’ where everything ranging from clothes to toys were free for all. As it is written in Luke 14:13-14, “But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.”. When making a feast, one must call the less fortunate and feast with them for they can’t compensate for a living and you will be blessed and rewarded. TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Auckland, New Zealand In celebration of The Old Path’s 38th Anniversary, the Members Church of God International (MCGI) in Papakura and Auckland unite as one to honour the said event. During the week-long celebration, members took their time to film a Video Greeting in tribute of the program’s founding. It was held at the Auckland War Memorial Museum where brethren gathered and merged as one. Charitable works such as Bloodletting and Catering to the Elderly were timely conducted with MCGI’s “The Old Path” 38th Anniversary. Members from Papakura and Auckland gave their blood to save lives to fulfill the Lord’s commandment. As the advocacy of the program ensues to “Continue to advocate Love, Hope and Faith”, brethren catered to the needs of the elderly as a way of showing love to our fellowmen. As the said event continued, members gathered once again at the Grey Lynn Library (a 94 years old landmark building), located at the heart of Auckland, to commemorate the programs’ Culmination Night on December 14, 2018. MCGI Chapters from all around the world were able to witness the Church’s Music Ministry opening number and the Dancing Ensemble of the Teatro Kristianos. As the event went on, the programs’ various charitable works from all around the world were shown live on Television. As the Bible states in Galatians 6:10, “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”. By doing so, we are not only doing good to our fellow countrymen but also we’re carrying out the Lord’s will. To God be the Glory! Written by: Brother John Gabriel Alovera
