North Island New Zealand A first ever Couples’ Night in North Island was successfully held at Glen Eden RSA, Auckland on June 4, 2018. The romantic event was attended by 26 couples all over North Island. The theme “Can’t Help Falling In Love” captivated the hearts of the brethren as they blissfully reminisced the good, old times while seeing photos of memories to remember. Truly, each of the couples felt blessed to have received their other half for they believe in what the Bible says in Proverbs 19:14, “Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the Lord”. Not only was the night filled with fun, food, and laughter, but also with genuine love stories of sticking together through thick and thin and a promise of a lifetime bond and commitment, as guided by the scripture from 1 Corinthians 7:10, “And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, let not the wife depart from her husband”. Thus, keeping the strong and inseparable bond of the couples through God’s help and guidance amidst life’s challenges. The highlight of the night’s programme was to reflect and listen to brother Eli Soriano and brother Daniel Razon as they deliver valuable teachings straight from the Bible as to how sacred the bond of marriage is to couples. Ephesians 5:22-23 states, “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its savior”. Many of the couples have been together for many years and grew even stronger as they became couples in faith and lived by the value and sacredness of this unity. Finally, the floor was opened for food, games, and dance numbers by the couples, together with their children. Indeed, the night was filled with lots of love in the air. 1 Corinthians 13:13, “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is LOVE. Above all, MCGI couples give back all the honor, thanks, and glory unto HIM. To GOD be the Glory!!! Written by: Sister Amy Chan Caco
Members Church of God International (MCGI) New Zealand initiated a bloodletting activity last May 29, 2018 at NZ Blood Donor Service Centre at Manukau. Brethren from MCGI Papakura chapter volunteered to the event, most of them went straight from work to grab the opportunity to do good. There were a total of nine bags of blood collected during the event. According to New Zealand Blood Service, “It isn't every day you can do something to save someone's life - but that's exactly what you do every time you donate blood. Blood is a priceless gift - a lifesaver.” Do you know that the biggest use of blood products in NZ is in cancer treatment? Around 28% of all blood donations are used by cancer patients. MCGI’s Overall Servants Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon promote and conduct such advocacy regularly on every part of the world as taught in the Bible in Galatians 6:10; "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." The blood donation effort is regularly held quarterly. Written by: Sister Jona Enriquez-Panganiban
